Centralizer Stop Collars
A Centralizer Stop Collar is a device used to prevent the movement or slippage of centralizers or cement baskets on a casing during the cementing process. It is also known as a position ring, stop circular, brake ring, etc. There are three types of Centralizer Stop Collars: mobile screw-type, fixed screw-type, and buckle-type.
The main function of this device is to restrict the axial movement of centralizers or cement baskets on the casing. By limiting their movement, it ensures proper placement and alignment during cementing operations.
Installation and Usage Method for Centralizer Stop Collars:
a. For mobile screw-type stop collars: Slide the collar over the casing and use a wrench to tighten the screws securely.
b. For fixed screw stop collars: Place the collar around the casing, insert screws into their designated holes, and tap them into place using a hammer.
c. For buckle-type stop collars: Fasten the collar onto the casing by buckling it in place and secure it with pins. Then use a hammer to tap any screws into their designated positions.
These installation methods ensure that Centralizer Stop Collars are properly attached to casings, providing effective support during cementing operations while preventing unwanted movement or slippage.
